Spring Motorcycle Prep: Getting Your Bike Out of Storage

2026-10-20
After a few months in storage, your motorcycle needs a little attention before it's ready for the open road. Use the T-CLOCS method riders have relied on for years.
- T – Tires and wheels: check pressure, tread depth and look for dry-rot cracks.
- C – Controls: make sure levers, cables and the throttle move smoothly.
- L – Lights and electrics: test the headlight, signals and brake light. Charge or replace the battery if needed.
- O – Oil and fluids: check oil, coolant and brake fluid. Change the oil if it sat all winter.
- C – Chassis: inspect the chain or belt, suspension and frame.
- S – Stands: confirm the kickstand and center stand spring back properly.
